At Cotteswold House we aim to provide our guests with high quality Bed & Breakfast and Self-Catering accommodation offering the personal touch that only a small family-run business can provide.  All bedrooms are on the first floor (not readily accessible for guests who have difficulties managing stairs). If you have any specific questions or requirements please contact us and we will endeavour to help.

• Bookings and enquiries can be made on-line or by telephone, fax or post.
• A printed brochure is available on request.
• A local bus service operates between Bibury and Cirencester (7 miles) though is infrequent.
• Nearest stations are Kemble (12 miles) and Swindon (20 miles).
• National Express coaches serve Cirencester.
• Local taxi service operates from Bibury.

BED & BREAKFAST ACCOMMODATION                                                                              [to top of page]
 

Our 3 first-floor guest bedrooms offer comfortable en-suite accommodation in two Double rooms and one Twin-bedded room.  Each room can be used for single-occupancy at a reduced rate.  Breakfast is the only meal served.  No-smoking throughout premises.  No pets.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• If arriving by car a level block-paved driveway leading to the rear of the house has parking for 3 cars.
• There is a pathway at the side of the house leading to the guest door.
• Driveway and path illuminated during hours of darkness.
• We offer assistance with luggage on arrival/departure.
• Arrival time between 4:30pm and 10:00pm except by prior arrangement.
• Check out time before 10:30am

 

Main Entrance & Reception

• Entry to the house is gained via electronic door entry system.  Door is locked at all times (guests are provided with the door entry code on arrival).
• Guest door has a raised threshold step of 10cms.  Door width is 95cms.
• The house is centrally heated throughout.

 

Fire & Safety

• All guest areas fitted with integrated smoke detectors/alarm system.
• Fire instructions are posted in all guest bedrooms; adjacent to guest entrance and at fire point on first floor landing which has fire extinguisher and fire blanket.  Additional fire point in kitchen.

 

Guest accommodation - public areas

• Main Entrance leads to guest dining area which has oak flooring with large rug in centre.  There are 3 breakfast tables (height - 74cms) each seating 2 people.  Tables can be arranged to seat larger groups as required.  
• Breakfast is served in the dining room between 08:00 and 09:00 (weekdays); 08:30-09:30 (weekends & bank holidays).
• Guests are welcome to use the lounge area at any time.  This area has 3-piece suite, coffee table and side tables with lamps.  A  selection of books, local guides, magazines and board games are provided.  Floor area is covered with fitted short pile carpet.
• A single flight of carpeted stairs off the Dining/Lounge area lead to our 3 Guest bedrooms, all on the first floor (15 steps - tread 86cm wide x 28 cm depth.  Rise - 20cm).  A handrail runs the full length of the stairs.

 

First Floor Bedrooms and Landing

• Main first floor landing serves our 3 guest bedrooms (2 x Double and 1 x Twin).  
• Doors into bedrooms are 75cms wide and can be locked from the inside and outside.
• Bed sizes:  Double - 138cm (width) x 183cm (length) x 58cm (height);  Single - 92cm (width) x 183cm (length) x 58cm (height).  All beds accessible from both sides.
• All bedrooms are centrally heated with thermostat controls on all radiators for individual temperature control.
• Hospitality tray, TV, radio/alarm clock and hairdryer in all bedrooms.
• Storage includes integral wardrobe, 3 drawer dressing table (with mirror) and bedside cabinets.
• Full-length wall mirrors in each room.
• Flooring covered by short pile good quality fitted carpets and rug.
• Non-feather duvets and pillows are used.
• Additional blankets are provided in all rooms.
• Fire Action notice.  Ceiling mounted smoke detector and remotely-linked fire alarm handset with integrated torch.
   

     All bedrooms have en-suite bathroom:

• Bath (54cm height to ledge); fixed shower over bath; wc (41cm seat height) and washbasin (75cms height).  Internal bathrooms have extractor fans automatically activated by light switch.
• Complimentary toiletries.
• Towels refreshed daily (unless requested otherwise).
• Vinyl flooring .
• Large mirror above washbasin with fluorescent lighting over.
• Shaver point (dual voltage).

 

Bedroom areas (including en-suite bathroom):

• Bedroom 1 (Double) 17m2 (approx).
• Bedroom 2 (Double) 15m2 (approx).

Courtyard and Gable Cottages are a pair of semi-detached cottages built of local natural stone and situated adjacent to Cotteswold House Bed & Breakfast.   Each cottage accommodates up to 4-persons.  No-smoking throughout premises.  No pets.

 

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• Guests will be met on arrival and shown around their accommodation.
• Both cottages are approached through the main block-paved driveway.
• Parking is available for one vehicle adjacent to each cottage.  Courtyard Cottage has an adjacent single garage.  A block-paved hard standing is provided for Gable Cottage.
• Vehicles can be unloaded at the front door of each cottage.
• Cottages are each entered via main door (83cm wide) with low threshold step (5cm) leading into ground floor accommodation.
• Driveway illuminated during hours of darkness. Each cottage has separate outside light (operated by switch inside cottage).
• We offer assistance with luggage on arrival/departure.
• Arrival time between 16:30 and 22:00 except by prior arrangement.   
• Owners live in adjacent Bed & Breakfast premises and are readily contactable, if required.

 

Description of Accommodation

 

General

• Both cottages are centrally heated with thermostat controls on all radiators for individual temperature control.
• All windows are double glazed (including Velux windows in most first floor rooms).
• Fitted short-pile carpet throughout (except vinyl flooring in kitchen and bathroom areas).  Rugs used throughout accommodation to add contrast.
• Smoke/Fire alarms fitted on ground floor and first floor.
• Fire Point situated on ground floor with Extinguisher, Fire Blanket and Fire instructions.

 

Ground floor Accommodation
Accommodation is open plan with Dining, Lounge and Kitchen  (Courtyard Cottage also has a downstairs cloakroom with wc and washbasin):

 

Dining Area

• Courtyard Cottage - Breakfast-bar style dining area with high stools around generous surface area (240cm x 90cm x 94cm height).
• Gable Cottage - Rectangular pine table (138cm x 84cm x 74cm height) with 6 chairs.  French dresser.

 

Living Area

• Both Cottages have 3-piece suite; 2 side tables with lamps; coffee table, television, DVD, Radio-CD-cassette player.

 

Kitchen Area

• Major appliances include: Electric Oven (with drop down door); Electric hob (with extractor hood over); Microwave; Fridge; Freezer; and Dishwasher.
• Generous worktop area (92cm height).
• Spotlight-style ceiling lights.

 

Laundry

• Both cottages equipped with washing machine and tumble-dryer for the exclusive use of guests.  In Gable Cottage laundry facilities are in separate ground floor utility area, and in Courtyard Cottage at rear of adjacent single garage.

 

First Floor Accommodation

First floor landing serving 2 bedrooms and bathroom reached by stairs with half landing (hand rail runs full length of stairs).  Stair dimensions (approx):

• Courtyard: 12 steps Tread = 86cm wide (min) x 24cm depth;  Rise = 19cm
• Gable: 12 steps Tread = 81cm wide x 27cm depth;  Rise = 21cm
• All bedroom/bathroom doors are 70cm wide (approx).

 

Bathroom

• Bath (54 cm height) with shower over (shower head on flexible hose); Washbasin (80cm height) and wc (seat height 42cm).
• Towels provided.

 

Bedroom (Double)

• One Double bed with headboard - 137cm (width) x 183cm (length) x 58cm (height);  accessible from both sides.
• Non-feather duvet/pillows are provided.
• Wardrobe, Dressing table (with mirror) and bedside cabinets.
• Hairdryer.

 

Bedroom (Twin)

• Two Single beds with headboards - 92cm ins (width) x 183cm (length) x 58cm (height);  accessible from both sides.
• Wardrobe, Dressing table (with mirror) and bedside cabinets.
• Non-feather duvet/pillows are provided.
